Shadi Gholizadeh, PhD, MPH, and Deanne Belcher, R.N., discuss the benefits of moving beyond a task-
based care focus to a more person-centered and biopsychosocial approach that considers modifiable
risk factors for aging-related morbidities and psychosocial opportunities for engagement and joy.
Fiduciaries can be better equipped to recognize this type of care and know what to look for in a care
plan and questions to ask agencies in finding optimal care for their clients. Fiduciaries will also learn tips
to incorporate a person-centered approach and language into their own interactions with clients.
