As a Professional Fiduciary you play a significant and vital role in the life of your clients, including their end of life. In this session, moderated by an end-of-life doula and featuring an end-of-life physician, a fiduciary and an attorney, will provide valuable perspective and critical understanding of some of the options available to people when their life is coming to an end. The primary focus of the presentation will be to explain, in detail, the California End of Life Option Act (Medical Aid in Dying). There will also be discussion about Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED) and opportunities to reflect on your own end-of-life biases, fears, and wishes.

As an adjunct law professor, he imparts practical skills in Trusts and Estates planning and Civil Litigation at UC Davis. Craig is an active member of various legal associations and contributes as a private arbitrator and mediator. Committed to community service, he’s served in leadership roles, including past synagogue president and director for charitable foundations.

Stefanie Elkins, a family caregiver consultant and end-of-life doula founded Be Present Care to facilitate caregiving and end-of-life conversations, educate families, and develop care plans. Previously the Medical Outreach Manager for Compassion & Choices California Campaign, she played a pivotal role in implementing the California End Of Life Option Act. In addition, Stefanie founded Death over Drafts, community gatherings held at breweries, to spark conversations on death and dying. She is also active in the Aging Life Care Association – Wester Region. Stefanie is a compassionate, dedicated & resourceful connector that welcomes opportunities to support and navigate life transitions.
Jill Judson

Jill Judson joined CSC in January 2016 and a year later became an owner in the rm. For 22 years, Ms. Judson was a paralegal, specializing in workers’ compensation defense, primarily focusing on the medical side of this specialty. While transitioning to the fiduciary business, Ms. Judson served approximately 30 seniors in the Central Contra Costa area as Care Manager for a non-prot agency. These experiences, paired with the fact that her husband also serves the same aging population, quickly launched her success as a licensed fiduciary.
Ms. Judson attended U.C. Davis for 3 years majoring in Managerial Economics. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources, and a minor in Economics from California State University, Sacramento. She later obtained her Certicate in Paralegal Studies from California State University, Hayward, and in 2015 received her Certicate in Fiduciary Management from California State University, Fullerton.
In her free time, Ms. Judson enjoys baking, going to Sharks hockey games, as well as the theatre. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 37 years, their two children and their spouses, and most especially their two grandchildren.
