A native of the Seattle Washington (Shoreline) area, where he also spent nearly half of his professional career, Mr. Savage graduated with honors from Columbia Law School (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Foreign Language Area Studies Fellow, and Parker School Certificate of recognition with honors in foreign and international law) , then studied as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Prior to law school he studied at BYU (Honors History major, German minor), graduating magna cum laude with University Honors, as well receiving several academic scholarships and departmental awards.

His professional experience began in complex litigation matters and has since ranged from work in a specialty tax boutique to serving some of the world’s largest companies as a tax attorney with global accounting giant KPMG (including a rotation in KPMG’s Munich office). In 2006, Mr. Savage joined Kirton McConkie (Utah’s largest law firm) where he practiced for nine years, and where he chaired the firm’s corporate and tax section. He also served three terms as a founding board member for the Utah World Trade Center, and in numerous other civic and humanitarian capacities. Mr. Savage left Kirton McConkie to pursue other ventures, including the founding of Equity Law PLLC, in Alpine, Utah.
